Christmas Films on DVD
There are a multitude of Christmas films that can be rented on DVD. Depending on what your personal tastes and preferences are you should still be able to find something that will thoroughly entertain you. The movies on this list are some of the more recent films that have been dedicated to this holiday. Though not yet considered classics, they just may be in the decades to come.
Love Actually (2003)
Love Actually focuses on the love lives of its central characters. Eight people's lives unfold in different ways coming to one obvious yet awe-inspiring conclusion, that love is wherever you wish it to be. All this happens in the Yuletide season tying it nicely into the overall wonder that is Christmas.
Bad Santa (2003)
Bad Santa tells the unconventional story of two conmen who have found their niche portraying Santa Claus and his elf. Things are going great until one of these conmen is befriended by a boy and begins seeing the error of his ways. You're sure to get a belly full of laughs while watching a “Bad Santa” turn good.
Elf (2003)
An orphan, Buddy, ends up in Santa's sack one Christmas. He is raised by Santa in the North Pole where he adopts the persona of an elf. As an adult he finds out he is adopted and thus makes the journey to New York to find his real dad with Santa's blessing. His father, Walter, is a cold-hearted business man who had no clue that Buddy was even born. During the course of getting to know each other many zany things happen that ultimately leads to Walter making a decision that will either make or break his newly formed relationship with his long lost son. This is a great Christmas treat for people of all ages featuring the comedic force that is Will Ferrel.
Fred Claus (2007)
Fred Claus tells the story of Santa Claus's brother who takes a trip to visit Santa in the North Pole. He is not the best of brothers to say the least, making Santa's Christmas journey a strange and unexpected experience. Certain to fill you with laughs, Fred Claus is a great reminder of the magic that often accompanies the merry season.
The Nativity Story (2006)
The Nativity story depicts the events that lead up to Jesus’ birth. The story remains true to that found in the Bible and is the perfect companion to anyone who wishes to emphasize the true meaning of Christmas.
